This readme.txt provides information for installing and using
the NPS AutoCAD  tools.  These files are intended for use with 
AutoCAD 2000, 2000i, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 WHEN NOT ON THE Denver Service 
Center NETWORK.

These tools are not for use with AutoCAD release 13 or 14.  If you already
have the NPS R13/14 customization installed, you must install these NPS 
AutoCAD tools to a DIFFERENT location.

Instruction for installing the NPS AutoCAD 2004 tools.

Contents: 
   NPS AutoCAD tools, including AutoLISP routines, template 
   drawings, standard symbols, standard details.
      
How to use: 

   Step 1. Download Npstools.exe by clicking on it's link from
      the page where you found this readme file.  Choose the "Save
      this program to disk" option, which will transfer Npstools.exe
      to your hard drive.

   Step 2. Install the files:
      To intall the NPS AutoCAD Tools, run the accompanying npstools.exe 
      file and follow the directions.  

      You can install these tools in any folder on a local or network
      drive. It is NOT recommended that you install the NPS Tools to 
      any folder underneath your AutoCAD installed folder.
   
   Step 3.  Configure AutoCAD:
      Follow the instructions that are presented at the end of the
      installation (step 2). 
      
   Once you successfully complete step 3, the NPS tools will automatically
   load each time you start AutoCAD.  

FOR NETWORK INSTALLATION
   If you have a group of computers using the NPS AutoCAD Tools, consider
   installing them to a single location on a server, rather than on each
   workstation.  

   To do this, first install the NPS AutoCAD Tools from an AutoCAD 
   workstation, but instead of accepting the default installation 
   location (on the C: drive), redirect the installation to a folder of 
   your choice on a network drive which is accessible to all AutoCAD 
   workstations.  

   Then, on each additional AutoCAD workstation, run npstools.exe and direct
   the installation to the location of the first installation.  In the 
   "Select Components" window, UNCHECK the AutoCAD Tools Files, so that
   only Registry Entries is selected.  Complete the installation as before.
   Repeat for each additional workstation.
